"Ride Through Reflections"

This painting is captivating, it's different, and it draws me into its scene. I am sitting on this bike. I can feel the rumbling of the engine. I am the person in the reflections. I feel the sun coming down from the left. I hear the loud Harley noise shooting out from behind me. I see an empty street in front of me and my speedometer rising... I love this painting because it's a place I want to be, it's a fun place, and a happy place. That's what makes this painting unique, the perspective of being on the bike is relatable and eye catching because it immediately puts me there. The detail in the chrome and metal brings contrast that my eye can't seem to ever leave but it doesn't have to, because of the simple background, that I can see in the distance and is washed away with motion under my feet, which doesn't distract from the beauty of the bike.

This was a project that I had been wanting to do for awhile, and there was no better time then after getting a 22x30 inch piece of watercolor paper. This was a huge project, my biggest watercolor yet and will probably be for awhile as it took over a year to finally complete it enough to call it done.
